Hey, I'm Charlie Bartlett and this is my blog about teen movies, music, videos, personal rants. Feel free to make a request or ask advice and dont forget to register!
People used to call me Kumar back in high school because they said I talked a lot like the way he does (brutality honest) LOL, but that’s not why I love this movie. If you’ve ever been so high that a trip to the bathroom seems like forever, then you’ll get most of the jokes in here. Sure, it’s a stoner flick (the plot revolves around 2 pot-heads and their quest to find fastfood) but it’s still a great comedy movie even when you aren’t stoned. If you ask me, this should be required viewing for any college student because it has a great message: all you really need to have a good time is some good weed and a good friend!

For those of you that don’t know, Montel Williams is a TV talk show host. Kind of like Oprah, but a guy and with less fans (then again, Oprah is probably a man too). One thing that you may not know about him is that he smokes weed EVERYDAY before he goes on his show because he is diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and the pains he gets are unbearable without pain relief.
I love this episode because he turns the ENTIRE audience into medical marijuana supporters by the end of the episode. IT GETS INTENSE. This is a great video to show anyone who doesn’t believe that weed is useful for medical purposes.
Well, it’s a bit late to be mentioning it, but I’ve had a lot of things on my plate this past week. I worked on my birthday (the 20th) and had other things personal things to take care of. Hell, I’m not even having my party with my friends until tomorrow. To be honest, I wasn’t really that excited about turning 20…I’d rather just skip being 20 and be 21, but that’s just me.
So anyways, now that I’m not a teenager anymore it got me thinking of how much I’ve changed since I was a freshmen in high school….and how much I might change after I graduate from college. So here’s a list of things that have changed/not changed…
So I got a summer job the other day (pays minimum wage wooohooo) and one of the first things they asked me to do was take a drug test. Needless to say, I agreed but was freaking out inside because I had some mary j brownies on the 1st of the month and I was scared that they might show up on the test (which, THANKFULLY, they didn’t). I should have seen it coming because I know drug testing is just one of the many ways people are profiting on marijuana prohibition.
This documentary is possibly the BEST documentary I’ve ever seen about weed because it brings up the most important reason for why marijuana is still illegal: MONEY. CLICK HERE to download movie or watch online…

Chris Rock, George Carlin, Jon Stewart, Doug Stanhope, and more talk about the hypocrisy of saying “NO” to illegal drugs and YES to drugs that may have just as bad, or worse side-effects in the long-run. Every time I see an anti-drug commercial I smile; It’s never been about keeping kids safe, only about keeping drug companies rich.

If you haven’t yet seen Grass, I highly recommend seeing that if you aren’t really knowledgeable about the history of marijuana. This video, on the other hand, focuses on the medical purposes for which the plant can be used. To me, it’s heartbreaking knowing that people are in pain and forced to use drugs with worse side effects than weed.
I actually knew about this song in 2007 waaay before it was in those Pineapple Express commercials (it inspired me to sneak out and spray paint at 3 am lol). I remember playing it at school and one of my friends was like, “Omg, turn that shit off!” And now a year later she claims it’s her favorite song (talk about following the crowd). This is probably the only song I like by M.I.A.
Oh, and if you didn’t know the meaning of the song it’s about a girl dealing drugs. If you know anything about dealers they use pre-paid cell phones (Burners). Hell, I was gonna get one when I was offered to deal back in high school<--something I don't recommend doing.
[EDIT: Oh shit fucky! I just realized aimini.net changed their rules so that you have to be registered to download songs. Oh well, u can still listen below.]
So yeah, the reason I haven’t posted in a while is because my internet at home is screwed up and also… partially because I’ve been high lol. Well, not “ALL the time” as 50 says in this song, but you know I had to fuck with Mary J. since I’m on break from school.
Hmm, I think I’ll share 50’s best album while I’m at it. STAY TUNED KIDS!
Well, I finally got stoned for the first time this past weekend (ate it through a brownie, I’ve never smoked it). I’ve been “high” before I guess, but that was when I was way younger (15) and just gave into peer pressure. For years after that experience I didn’t touch the stuff because I was one of those stupid kids that actually believed all the government propaganda about weed (watch the movie The Biz Behind Getting High here). Lol, now I just laugh at those anti-drug commercials. Read more…
Wow, I’m late as a period for posting this movie now. I MEANT to share it back when I posted Stand By Me but I guess I forgot. This has to be my favorite movie of the 80’s because it’s the very FIRST major movie to actually address teen problems like depression, abuse, peer pressure, and sex. It makes you realize that, even though everyone may be part of some “click” we all have the same problems.
One of my favorite/most important scenes has to be the one where they interrogate Molly Ringwald (the redhead) about being a virgin. Shit, I’m 19 and still a virgin AND ashamed of it. I guess things haven’t really changed much since the 80’s lol. John Hughes (the director) is overrated in my opinion and usually has some very stereotypical films, but at the same time I don’t mind in this movie because of the realistic writing.
