Hey, I'm Charlie Bartlett and this is my blog about teen movies, music, videos, personal rants. Feel free to make a request or ask advice and dont forget to register!
I usually hate musicals. Let me stress that…I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HATE EVERY MUSICAL I’VE EVER SEEN. Except this one for some reason. Maybe it’s because there’s really a story to it and it has a lot of songs that i can sing to. Or maybe it’s because i think Evan Rachel Wood is hot and I was stoned the first time I saw it…yeah that might have to do something with it. Anyways, this is the ONLY musical I’ve ever seen and liked. So, if you’re like me and you hate musicals, you should at least give this one a shot cuz you just might like it.
You guys don’t mind checking into something different, right? I think if you’re into metal or not, this is an album worth looking into. I think it’ll hit you emotionally during some of the songs if you are like me.
I’ve been listening to this album since a bit before my senior year of high school. This album instrumentals perfectly captured what I felt at the time: anger, alienation, complete isolation (yeah, I was an outcast… and one of those kids). There are lyrics, yeah, but I couldn’t tell you a single one: the vocalist shrieks his way through the album. Honestly, it works in its favor: the shrieks compliment the music and gives it a sense of desperation. The atmosphere is bleak. It’s completely beautiful, I think.
No, this song isn’t about shoes LOL. A.D.I.D.A.S stands for “All Day I Dream About Sex.” I actually remember seeing “ADIDAS” on the bathroom walls of my middle school and I never got the inside joke until years later….yesterday to be precise. Yep I guess you could call me a new Korn fan. The reason I never liked/listened to Korn was probably because one of my classmates in 8th grade tried to kill himself by taking 70 pills of ritalin (the ADHD drug). I remember him sitting behind me asking if he could go to the bathroom and then the next thing you know there’s a fucking ambulance at our school. He was wearing a Korn shirt when they found him in the bathroom.
So yeah, now I’m over that and I can finally appreciate Korn’s music. Better late than never.
I haven’t really posted a song in a while just because I hadn’t really heard one that made me feel anything special- that is, until I heard this song the other day. If you watched the finale of That 70’s Show then you might recognize it. The original song was by Big Star but I happen to think this cover by Garbage sounds better. Basically, it’s about a boy’s perspective of the first girl he likes- he talks about wanting to go to the dance with her, avoiding her dad, and even waiting for sex.

If you didn’t know, Marilyn Manson was one of the “reasons” that the media used to explain why the Columbine kids shot up their school. It was a stupid one, of course, and what’s even more stupid is the fact that the kids who shot up the school WEREN’T EVEN FANS OF HIM. For 2 years he declined every interview except this one from Michael Moore.
This is actually a clip taken from the movie Bowling For Columbine so watch that if you want to see more on the subject of Columbine. Every time I show this video to someone they always seem so surprised. “Marilyn Manson is intelligent?” Oh, yeah bitches..Manson ROCKS! Read more…
Mixi is a singer that won this tiny tiny known reality show called “Redemption Song” on fuse. It was your typical “bad girls go girl” reality show and I really wasn’t impressed with any of the girls.
But Mixi won and later came out with this song. It’s really nostalgic and all about wanting to get back to her childhood. When I first listened to it I just wanted to gather some friends, sit around my living room, and talk about when we were kids and the crazy things we had done then and how much we had changed. It kind of sucks because we’re all at a point where we’ll be going to college or jail soon and it’s kind of like our group song. The lyrics to me are the best because Mixi’s kind of goofy and I love her voice and that she came out with something like this is amazing.
I was just going to post one Manson album (Holy Wood) but then I just said “Fuck it, they need to hear everything.” So here you go, EVERY good Marilyn Manson album. If you told me that I was going to be a fan of Marilyn Manson a year ago I would have laughed at you and said something like “Manson?…ehhh isn’t he like trying to be the devil or something so he can get attention..geez that guy is weird.” But since then I’ve become to appreciate his art…I say art because he’s actually one of the last TRUE music artists around. Visually, musically, lyrically- just EVERYTHING this guy does is art. He really represents what it means to be a true individual and I respect him for that.
On a related note I’d like to point out that Lady Gaga is trying very hard to be the female Marilyn Manson. Ok, sure, she’s an artist herself, but she STOLE Manson’s style completely. Don’t even get me started on the stupid costumes and videos.

This is one of those music videos that can make your day better. Especially if you’re a musician. It features a bunch of aspiring musicians just rocking out with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Man I would have LOVED to have been there when they made this.

This was the last song recorded by Kurt Cobain before he died. It’s really haunting and the lyrics are intense. There will always be people that suspect foul play in his suicide, but to me it’s obvious he killed himself. Just listen to the lyrics, he wasn’t happy and this song proves it. The compilation of Nirvana’s stage footage goes great with this song, it just goes to show you how much they really did rock. CLICK HERE to download the DVDrip…
Today wasn’t that great of a day. One of my roommates had to move out cuz she didn’t have enough money to pay rent i’m gonna miss her. So you know I had to start listening to some fucking happy music to get me in a good mood. Thanksgiving break is over and it’s back to school tomorrow.
This one was a request. And, as you guys know, I ALWAYS do requests….even it it takes me forever to do them lol.
