OMFG! It’s The…

I was invited to a Hell House back in Middle School, but THANKFULLY I didn’t go to it. After seeing this documentary, I realized that Hell Houses are basically another scared-straight method of pushing vulnerable kids into converting. Basically, what happens is Churches get their teen church members to play “bad kids who need to be saved” and put on a mini-plays about how life without Jesus is basically hell on earth. It’s scary how many kids are converted to Christians after going to Hell Houses. The next time Halloween rolls around, I’d advise you NOT to attend any Hell Houses if you want to have a good time. Unless, of course, you’d like to see disgusting re-enactments of abortions.

Then again…you could always go for the comedic relief.

Bill Maher is probably the most famous celebrity-atheist and one of my heroes. In this documentary he goes around to some of the most religious places and reveals all the hypocrisy of the people there. This is one of those movies that can turn an agnostic into an atheist. I wish I would have seen something like this years ago.

This is it. This is the video that made me 99% atheist (I say 99% because the other 1% was my philosophy class). I, like so many other people that clicked on the video did it for two reasons: 1) the girl is hot, and 2) I thought to myself “Gullible isn’t in the dictionary? WTF??!! I gotta click this shit!”

Before you read my rant below I’d like to point out that I was not atheist when I started this blog (2 years ago). In fact, my whole entire high school life I was a “good Muslim boy” (as my parents used to say) that prayed 3 times a day. LOL.

As I may have mentioned before, I once attended a Christian camp (even though I grew up Muslim, my parents insisted that I go since it wasn’t supposed to be very religious). Once I got there I realized that my parents were wrong- the camp was VERY religious and we even had to go to church and pray on some days. Needless to say, the ignorance of all of the kids came out once they found out I wasn’t part of their religion and I was taunted on a daily basis.

I now realize that the way they treated me was only a reflection of their Evangelical upbringing. If you’ve ever known someone who was a Jesus freak and wanted to know WHY they act the way they do then check this movie out. The brainwashing in this movie is just sick- I’d even go as far as calling it non-physical child abuse.

I’m going to be posting a lot of George Carlin material in the coming weeks. If you decide not to watch any of it, PLEASE at least see this clip! This has to be his greatest stand-up bit ever. I love Carlin, not because he’s funny, but because he’s funny AND a smartass. He’s the wise old grandpa I never had. RIP man.

Well, it’s a bit late to be mentioning it, but I’ve had a lot of things on my plate this past week. I worked on my birthday (the 20th) and had other things personal things to take care of. Hell, I’m not even having my party with my friends until tomorrow. To be honest, I wasn’t really that excited about turning 20…I’d rather just skip being 20 and be 21, but that’s just me.

So anyways, now that I’m not a teenager anymore it got me thinking of how much I’ve changed since I was a freshmen in high school….and how much I might change after I graduate from college. So here’s a list of things that have changed/not changed…

This has to be one of the best poems I’ve ever heard. If anyone asked me why I was an atheist, If i could, I’d show them this video every time. Abraham Lincoln and Albert Einstein didn’t believe in god for a reason you know.

Since Obama is officially becoming our president today, I thought I’d share this video of what a bunch of college students REALLY think about America today. If you’re an American (like I am), then you’ll really relate to this video. Hopefully some of these things will change in 4 years time.
