Hey, I'm Charlie Bartlett and this is my blog about teen movies, music, videos, personal rants. Feel free to make a request or ask advice and dont forget to register!
Wow, I just listened to this song for the first time in about 4 years and I have to say it’s cheesy as hell. I used to hate my dad…I mean REALLY hate him and I used to listen to this song occasionally (yeah, I knew it was cheesy when I was 16 too). We still don’t get along and I guess I’ll never like him, but I’ve gotten over the whole teen-angst thing when it comes to my parents. College taught me how much my dad sacrificed to raise me.
Man I really hate being home…I was constantly listening to this song before my parents picked me up from the dorm. Musically, it’s typical Sum-41, but lyrically it’s pretty good. A “Walking Disaster” is pretty much what I feel like right now.
Words can’t describe how happy I was when I heard Blink-182 got back together! I seriously can’t WAIT until they come to my city cuz i’ll go friggin CRAZY at the concert!!! This documentary gives an insight to blink-182 like never before. It’s sort of like MTV Diaries but longer and uncensored. I know there’s a Urethra Chronicles 2, but it sucks compared to this one because it doesn’t have nearly as many 1 on 1 interviews and good concert footage.
While I’m sharing The Distillers I might as well post their best CD. HANDS DOWN this is the best female-fronted punk album to come out in the last decade! Forget Paramore (I’m sorry but all their songs sound the same) Brody can ROCK! My fav tracks: The Hunger, Dismantle Me, For Tonight…, and of course, Hall Of Mirrors. Oh, and above is the banned version of the album cover (you can only get it on vinyl).
As I’ve said b4, I’m a huge Courtney Love fan. So naturally, when Brody Dalle (the lead singer) from The Distillers came out singing almost EXACTLY like her, I LOVED IT. She may not have as much range or pronounce her words as clear as Courtney (take “Young Crazed Peeling” for instance, she sounds like she doesn’t care how she sings it), but she sings passionately and her lyrics almost always are deep. Which is why I’m sharing both (in my opinion) the BEST AND WORST songs that The Distillers have done. Read more…
I’m pretty sure freaking out is part of being a teenager. If you don’t, then you’re just gonna let it build up inside of you and either be a very angry pessimistic adult (*cough* MY DAD *cough*), or one of those kids who just pops one day and shoots up the school. Everyone has to find an outlet. Mine’s sneaking out of the house, spray painting, c-walking, rapping, and (of course) blogging. The way I see it, if it ain’t hurtin’ someone then FUCKIN’ DO IT!

This interview explains why I love this band so much. The lady has NO IDEA wtf they are saying and she just goes with it. I especially like the part around the 3:00 mark when Tom explains that people who are in bands that say “the don’t care” how successful they are are full of shit.
SLC Punk stars Matthew Lillard (yeah, the dude who played Shaggy in Scooby Doo and the bad guy in Scream) who is actually a very versatile actor. In this movie he plays a recent 1985 college graduate who, instead of going to Harvard Law School like is father suggests, dedicates his life to parties, rock shows, car theft, and hanging out with the punks. Jason Segel (from Freaks & Geeks) also has a minor role in this film. This movie has a great message: “punk” isn’t what you look like, who you hang out with, or what you listen to. Punk is a state of mind.
So today, out of pure boredom, I picked up my lil sister’s skateboard in the garage and I decided that I, even though it was like my 5th time EVER getting on a skateboard, I was going to skate down our driveway, across the street, and into our neighbor’s driveway. It took a few tries, and yeah I fell and got bruised up a lil, but I DID IT! And THIS is the song that was in my headphones while I did it. It was such a great feeling because the fast part of this song hit PERFECTLY when I was got past my driveway. Gotta admit, it was kinda fun.
MxPx isn’t a very good band (this is one of their FEW good songs), but this song (regardless of the Christian reference) describes what it’s like to be a teenager: ignorance isn’t bliss.
