Hey, I'm Charlie Bartlett and this is my blog about teen movies, music, videos, personal rants. Feel free to make a request or ask advice and dont forget to register!
Lucky me… I’m not a hugger… at all. Looks like I won’t get fucked over by a bunch of prudes who think that somehow hugging will lead to much dirtier acts. I’m assuming that is what’s frightening the school officials in question to dole out such harsh punishment as they are towards those who show affection of any sort. In fact, in my high school, I remember that hugging would fall under the “public displays of affection” violation, and you would be warned not to do it. This one kid I know went around giving hugs and was told off for it. I can understand why they wouldn’t want distractions, but is hugging that big a distraction? This was the fucking cafeteria, for crying out loud. Our brains were off, our conversations were completely primitive, and we had time to kill. I don’t understand.
This is the one video you in which you will find no rants or excessively long comments. Right to the point: it’s just a video that shows a girl who is standing up on the bus and suddenly flies into the roof via speed bump.
This video really makes my blood boil, but I know that I have to keep this more brief because making a rant is besides the point… the title explains it all, really. A teenage girl fell into an open manhole because she was texting. What the title doesn’t tell you is that the mother wants to take legal action against the city for this incident and that the girl was also walking with a friend when she fell in the manhole. We’re talking a second pair of eyes here.
So before I launch into some long rant, check out the video and tell me your thoughts.
So, time for more video posts. I think I’ll post the one first because it may be the most infuriating to me personally.
Basically, this is a video that is an obvious jab at kids who think that they’re lives are rough because they see other people who have what they want but can’t have… and they want it, too.
First of all, I’m insulted because whoever made the video has no subtlety. There’s no way you could misunderstand his/her intentions.
But the other things that annoys me is that most people realize that their life is good no matter how much they may complain. This almost seems like it’s stereotyping teenagers. It’s true, many complain… and usually it’s just a phase. Adults complain, too, but somehow, I guess, their complaining is more legitimate.
Still, I guess it’s a wake up call of a video, even if it seems condescending. Check it out and see what you think.
So I was sent a couple of videos that I should comment on for this blog. I’m pretty much game for that, since I’m usually quite opinionated. I’m going to get this one out of the way since it may be the most challenging video on which to form an opinion. I say this because, while somehow youtube has the video listed as “news and politics,” I see nothing newsworthy nor political about it. Maybe there was a controversy and the teacher was fired. I have no clue about this. Read more…

Louis CK is one of my favorite comedians for a reason- he may be balding, have kids, and not be in school, but for some reason I can really relate to everything he says. Here’s a clip that every spoiled suburban kid needs to see (or more like understand). I’ll even admit it- sometimes I don’t appreciate how convenient it is to get entertained or look up information. Work that took HOURS to do in the 90’s takes SECONDS today. THINK ABOUT THAT SHIT!
I was a 90’s baby, so I remember when downloading a (1) song took 10 minutes on dial up! And movies….well, let’s just say this site wouldn’t have been possible 10 years ago. I hate to admit it, but most people my age just don’t appreciate how fucking good the world really is today. The internet/technology has DRASTICALLY made just about everything easier. But for some reason people are still unhappy.
Dammit! Sometimes I’m ashamed of my generation. If you’re still reading this just know I’m not talking about you….I think.

LOL, this girl really needs to quit band before she dies of excitement. I used to be in band in middle school but then I smartened up and realized that playing/practicing other people’s music for hours every week wasn’t something I wanted to do anymore.
If you see one George Carlin special, make sure it’s this. This is a re-cap of his career that was done in 1997 and hosted by Jon Stewart. Clips of some of Carlin’s most legendary performances can be seen in this special.

This is the coolest 8-year old in the world! She kinda reminds me of my little sister actually. This video touches on a BUNCH of subjects including violent video games, rap music, religion, and conservative politics. If the whole world just thought like this little girl, we’d all get along a lot better.

So, I saw the Hangover about a week ago and I couldn’t stop thinkin…where have I seen this before? Yeah, it was kinda funny, but it had a lot of stereotypes and unrealistic moments (like when they got handed tuxedos from some random van on the highway JUST in time for the wedding). Observe and Report was sooo much funnier, but it didn’t get nearly as much attention as The Hangover did. Anyways, I stumbled across this clip and hit hit me- The Hangover is a rip-off of Dude Where’s My Car!
Jaaerdfoll: hey everybody
I figured it would be a good idea to introduce myself to everyone!
Can't wait to get to know you all better!
