Kiera Knightly is hot. Ok, now that I’ve got that off my chest I’d like to tell you how good I think this movie is. Sure, it’s targeted towards chicks, but it’s not JUST some soccer film about girls. It also has cultural things about how much it sucks to have foreign controlling parents (something I can relate to). Just thought I’d share this cuz most of the movies I’ve been sharing lately are pretty dramatic. This one’s fun. Enjoy it with a friend and/or popcorn.

This is THE DEFINITION of a classic teen movie. Usually, 70’s movies about teens suck, but this one is a HUGE exception. It’s basically about a group of high school kids growing up in the 60’s driving around town and having fun over the course of one day. It’s not a well-known film, however it’s directed by George Lucas (yes, the dude that directed 3 good Starwars movies and 3 bad ones). After I watched this movie, I just kept wanting to say the word “bitchin!”

If you were/still are/know deeply religious people, then you know how overbearing they can be. I’m not saying that religion doesn’t help people (ok I’m going to stop now before I go off on a rant) but I am saying that SOME religious nuts are very brainwashed into thinking that things are SUPPOSED to be a certain way for EVERYONE. Personally, I’m not a religious person at all (not anymore) and I found this movie to be entertaining and thoughtful at the same time. It’s kinda rare to find in movies like this considering the whole teen-style of the film.

This movie won’t change your life or anything, but it will make you feel better. Hell, the music in this movie is all alternative rock and sets the tone of the 90’s perfectly. If you’re looking for something mostly light-hearted and fun to watch then this is great. This is the movie that made me want to work at a record store. But I guess that won’t ever happen with the age of mp3’s. Well, we can all dream can’t we?
