As the title states, a bunch of teens were busted and the cops expected to basically shut down a party because they thought the kids were drinking… but their keg was filled with root beer, so there was nothing they could do.

So what exactly should I rant about? Well, let’s look at the comment that one of the newscasters made: “we’re so used to showing situations of juvenile delinquency that we wanted to show something different.” Isn’t that true? The most sensationalist news is to show how fucked up teenagers are so that the adults can watch it and say in their condescending tone “back when we were kids…” Most of the adults watching probably did worse than drinking from a keg. Ok, now I know I said I wouldn’t have time to make posts during this week because of my finals, but technically I wrote this for an assignment already so it’s really not taking up anymore time. I thought’s I’d share this essay because me and my roommates plan on drinking/getting high RIGHT after finals end on Thursday night. So it’s kinda appropriate . Also, I have YET to run into ANYONE in college who HASN’T taken a slip of alcolol before. I dunno If I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m actually ALLERGIC to alcohol, but even so I felt writing this essay was important for the millions of other moderate teen drinkers that get shit for no reason…

This movie is the DEFINITION of a rave film! For God’s sake, the way its shot makes you feel like you’re tripping! Be prepared for some eye candy, ear candy, and mindless-but-cool chatter. Lots of partying, dancing, and techno, but for some reason, it doesn’t get old. This film shows just how far people will go to have a little fun. Even if they feel like shit in the morning (lol).

I’ve never actually seen the regular version of this movie (I always see the unrated version [the only part I don't really like about it is the random bleeding neck scene]). That being said, I think that this is one of those classic teen movies of the 21st century by Judd Apatow (who is probably my favorite director/producer/writer in Hollywood right now). If you’ve ever had a best friend then you can relate to this movie. What I like about most Judd Apatow movies is that they usually break the mold and push the boundaries by having realistic characters. Even though the plot may be a little cliche (house party, loser guy gets the girl, etc.) the characters are NOT your typical MTV stereotypes. Why can’t everybody be this honest?

This is my favorite movie of all time. For a number of reasons: I first saw this when I was 15, I have a secret writing job, I have a nosy embarrassing over-protective mother like the one in this movie, and I want to tour on the road someday. This is the directors/extended/bootleg cut or whatever you want to call it. Basically it’s 30 minutes longer than the original and is sooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome. I know 22 links are a lot to download but TRUST ME it’s worth it!

While I’m at it I might as well post an actual GOOD Kirsten Dunst movie. It’s hard to believe, but this was released only a year after that piece of roach shit Deeply. I’m usually not one for romantic teen movies (I HATED A Walk To Remember), but I like this one. Probably because of the good music and the whole “scrapbook style” credits. When i get a girlfriend I’ll probably show her this movie (lol). I had to do a bit of looking to find working links, so here you guys go. It’s in 7 parts.

The OC. What else can I say about this show except that it SET THE STANDARD for teen dramas in the new millennium. Sure, some of the show had it’s cliché soap opera moments, but for the most part (especially for season 1) the OC was the most realistic teen drama since My So-Called Life. I’m not going to share any episodes after season 1, because, even though seasons 2-4 were pretty good, they just weren’t as groundbreaking as season 1. Just about every wannabe teen drama that’s now on TV copied this one (*cough* One Tree Hill, Skins, any crappy show on The N *cough*). This has to be one of the best music videos EVER! Not to mention the best song on American Idiot. It’s sad that it isn’t recognized as what it should be: the modern-day equivalent of Bohemian Rhapsody for the new punk generation, but NOOOO radio stations don’t like playing songs longer than 4 minutes in length. While the actual length of the song is 9 minutes long, this video is about 12 minutes long because it’s got some good acting in it as well. This is one of the first songs that I used to listen to when I first started sneaking out of the house. I just love the line “graffiti on the bathroom wall.” Anyone who hates the town they grew up in will LOVE this song/music video. Hands down My So-Called Life was one of the greatest teen shows of the 90s (if not THE best). I don’t even care if the main character was a girl, this show ROCKED! It was one of the greatest of it’s time because it was one of the first American shows to REALISTICALLY address things like drugs, sex, homosexuality, depression, etc. Sure, that gay-ass Degrassi show TRIED but, of course, it was cheesy as hell. Plus, this show was made back in 1994 so it’s AUTOMATICALLY cool.
